เชื่อว่าใครที่ขับรถเพื่อเดินทางไปหัวหิน คงจะเคยเห็นเขาที่มีเจดีย์สีขาวใหญ่อยู่ทางซ้ายมือเมื่อเข้าจังหวัดเพชรบุรีกันมาบ้าง เราคนนึงที่เห็นที่นี่มาตั้งแต่เด็กและสงสัยทุกครั้งว่าข้างบนจะเป็นยังไง จะขึ้นไปได้ยังไงมีใครอยู่มั้ย เอาง่ายๆเป็นสถานที่นึงที่เราฝังใจอยากรู้อยากเห็นมากๆ! คราวนี้เราเลยถือโอกาสลองแวะกันดูเล่นๆซักแปปนึง แต่สรุปว่าต้องอยู่นานเลยเพราะมีอะไรให้ดูเยอะมาก!
For Thai people, you probably have driven passes this beautiful- white pagodas for several times while heading down south. I was always wondering what is up there and how is it gonna be like on the top? That’s my own curiosity when I was young since we passed this pagoda not less than 20 times, at least! Let’s say it’s a bypass for Thai people and how many people actually stop by and get up there?
We finally took an opportunity to stop by on the way to our journey to Hua-Hin. And it’s just so much for you to see!
นอกจากความสวยงามเว่อวังของที่นี่แล้ว แน่นอนว่าเขาวังเป็นเหมือนสัญลักษณ์ของเมืองเพชรบุรี ซึ่งพระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 4 ทรงสร้างพระราชวังสำหรับแปรราชฐาน โดยพระนามว่า พระนครคีรี นั่นเอง อยู่บนเขาสูง 92 เมตร ส่วนคนเมืองเพชรจะติดปากเรียกกันว่า เขาวัง เหมือนที่เราเรียกกันอยู่ในปัจจุบัน
Regardless to their mysterious beauty up hill, it is a definite symbol for Petchaburi province. Built by the order of Majesty the King Rama 4, as he wished to to move to where later also called ” Summer Palace” or “Phra Nakhon Kiri” in Thai language. Located in 92-meters mountain height. Most of the Petchaburi locals would call “Khao Wang” as well as Thai people as a spoken language.
วันนี้เราเลี้ยวเข้ามาทางซอยข้างๆ กับเขาวังเพื่อหาที่จอดและเดินขึ้นไปค่ะ ทางขึ้นเขาวังมีสองทางด้วยกัน จะอยากจะดูวิวชิวๆก็สามารถขึ้นรถรางได้ไฟฟ้า หรือจะเดินขึ้นด้านบนก็ได้ ถ้าอยากจะฟิตกันหน่อย ส่วนเราใช้วิธีเดินขึ้น ซึ่งชิวๆมาก เดินไปเจอลิงไป ถ่ายรูปไป 555 ปกติ 15-20 นาทีก็ขึ้นถึงแล้วค่ะ
We drove straight the alley next to “Khao Wang” on the left to find a parking. There are two ways to go up as you can either go up by foot or by cable (cost about 40 THB). We chose to walk up because we didn’t even there is a cable car to be honest haha! But it’s so easy to walk up and it’s just so relaxing to walk around. If you want to meet some pals, look around you and you will find those monkeys all around where you walk! It mainly takes you about 15-20 minutes to reach the mountain.
วิวจากทางเดินที่เราเดินขึ้นมา ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นทางลาด เพราะฉะนั้นไม่ต้องกลัวจะเหนื่อย เดินชมนกชมไม้ได้ชิวๆเลย ที่นี่ร่มรื่นมากๆ ยังไงก็ระวังเจ้าจ๋อกันด้วยเน้อ เป็นจอมฉกของเลยที่นี่
Most of the pathway is slope so that’s why it’s so chill to walk. Always be careful with your backpack or any accessories you’re wearing because these monkeys are ready to steal from you anytime!
We visited the main highlight area on the west of Khao Wang due to our limited time and the vast area of the palace. Once you arrive from down below, you are already on the west side of the palace. Congratulations!
หลักๆแล้วจะขอมารีวิวเขาวังด้านทิศตะวันตกกันซะส่วนใหญ่ เนื่องจากเวลามีจำกัดและมีบริเวณกว้างขวางมากก ซึ่งไฮไลท์หลักๆจะอยู่กันที่นี่ทิศนี้กันค่ะ จากทางขึ้นมา เราจะเจอกับราชวังทางทิศตะวันตกเลย
ที่นี่ดอกลั่นทมเยอะมาก ซึ่งทำให้มีความร่มรื่นและเข้ากับพระราชวังได้เป็นอย่างดี เดินเล่นได้เพลินสุดๆเลยค่ะ
There are so many Frangipani flowers all around the palace which make this place even prettier. It’s just a perfect place to walk around (except the heat!).
เขาด้านตะวันตก เป็นที่ตั้งของพระราชวัง มีทั้งพระที่นั่งและสิ่งก่อสร้างอื่นๆอีกมากมาย เรียกได้ว่าเป็นอีกจุดไฮไลท์เลยค่ะ
On the west side, is located by the palace itself and other beautiful buildings that you could make loads of great shots on.
ทางขึ้นไปพิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติพระนครคีรี ซึ่งภายในมีเก็บรักษาโบราณวัตถุต่างๆ ทุกที่มีความสวยและความขลังอยู่มากๆ

พระที่นั่งเวชยันต์วิเชียรปราสาท ตอนที่เราไปยังทีการบูรณะอยู่ ภายในประดิษฐานพระบรมรูปพระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวอีกด้วย
Another highlight is so called ” Place of worship in Khlong Kra Saeng” where the King Rama 4 statue is settled here. This is where Thai people would visit and give respect for the King. We were there while there was renovation but should be done by now.
เรายังอยู่กับด้านตะวันตกกันที่หอชัชวาลเวียงชัย จะเป็นหอทรงกลมซึ่งมีจุดประสงค์ศึกษาและสังเกตุการณ์ทางด้านดาราศาสตร์ สามารถเห็นวิวเมืองเพชรบุรีได้โดยรอบอีกด้วย โดยสมัยก่อนจะจุดโคมไฟที่อยู่ในโคใกระจกตามภาพ เมื่อมองจากทะเลสามารถเห็น ได้แต่ไกลจึงเป็นที่หมายของชาวเรือในการเดินเรือเข้าอ่าวบ้านแหลมได้อีกด้วย
Still on the west side with “Chatchawan Wiang Chai Hall” This beautiful dome hall was built for astronomical observation and education since King Rama 4 was highly interested in Astronomy. From the top, you are able to see the view of Petchaburi town. In the past, they lit a lamp in the dome so those fishermen could see this place from a far and labeled this place as their stop to the Baan Laem shore.

จะเห็นว่าพระราชวังฤดูร้อนแห่งนี้ใหญ่กว่าที่คิดมากกก มีพระตำหนักให้เดินดูมากมาย มีที่ชิคๆให้ถ่ายรูปเต็มไปหมด ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นสถาปัตยกรรมตะวันตกแบบนิโอคลาสสิคผสมจีนด้วย นอกจากสถาปัตยกรรมสวยๆแล้ว ยังมีสถานที่เที่ยวสำคัญๆเช่น พระธาตุจอมเพชร วัดพระแก้ว พระที่นั่งและตำหนักที่ก่อสร้างต่างๆ
You can see that this is only some parts (but more than 60%) of Summer Palace! There still places to walk to and to explore more in this mountain. There are loads of great scenes for you to have some beautiful pictures and for good portraits. Their main architecture is western style (neo classic) combining and chinese style. Moreover, those never left the “Thai” feelings in this place with Thai painting on the walls, pagodas and the place of worship itself.

Tips: In every first Friday of February, people will hold a celebration of “Khao Wang” for 10 days 10 nights, including with performance and firework.
*สามารถเดินทั่วภายใน 2-2.30 ชั่วโมง แต่ส่วนใหญ่ให้เผื่อเวลาเดินเล่นถ่ายรูปค่ะ เราอยู่เกือบสามชั่วโมงยังอยากดูต่อเลย ขอบอกไว้เลยว่าถ้าจะมาเดินให้ละเอียดจริงๆ ขอเผื่อเวลาไว้ซัก 3-5 ชั่วโมงนะคะ
* It may take about 2-2.30 hours to walk around the palace but highly recommend for 3-5 hours stays if you love to take photos and appreciated more of the place.

รถตู้/ Van
สามารถมาด้วยรถตู้มาที่เพชรบุรีได้ขนส่งสายใต้ใหม่ (ปิ่นเกล้า)
Take the van from Pinklao south van station. However, the van will not directly drop you at Khao Wang so you may need to take a taxi here.
รถยนต์
จากกรุงเทพฯ ใช้ทางหลวงหมายเลข 35 (สายธนบุรี-ปากท่อ) ผ่านสมุทรสาคร สมุทรสงคราม และอำเภอปากท่อ แล้วแยกเข้าทางหลวง หมายเลข 4 ไปจังหวัดเพชรบุรี รวมระยะทางประมาณ 123 กิโลเมตร หรือจากกรุงเทพฯ เดินทางไปตามทางหลวงหมายเลข 4 ผ่านนครปฐม ราชบุรี ไปยังเพชรบุรี เป็นระยะทาง 166 กิโลเมตร เขาวัง อยู่ริม ถ.เพชรเกษมสายเก่า (ทางเข้าตัวเมือง)
The best way to travel here is by car or motorcycle. There are two routes you can do:
1. Take a highway no. 35 (Thonburi-Pak Tho). Drive pass Samut Sakorn, Samut Songkram and Umper Pak Toh. Seperate to highway no. 4 to Petchaburi with approximately 123 kilometers.
2. From Bangkok, take highway no.4 pass Nakorn Pathom, Ratchaburi and to Petchaburi. This one would take about 166 kilometers drive.
